BRETT FAVRE – NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED!!
I was there at Lambeau Field in Green Bay in 1992 when Packers quarterback Don Majkowski went down with an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. A young and very
inexperienced Brett Favre came into the game. His performance was very poor in the begining, fumbling the ball four times in the packers first three possesions. He was booed by
the home crowd and many in the crowd chanted for third team quarterback Ty Detmer to replace Favre.
With a little over a minute left in the game and the Packers on their own 8 yard line, down 23-17 something magical happened that day. Brett Favre’s competitive spirit
was infused into that game. Favre threw a 42 yard strike to All Pro Sterling Sharpe to get the Packers out to midfield. Three plays later Favre threw the game winning touchdown to
Kitrick Taylor with 13 seconds left in the game.
The Brett Favre legend and Hall of Fame career was officially born that day. That day back in 1992 I say a tremendous competitor with his back against the wall come
out fighting. Against the Green Bay Packers and 17 years later I saw the same competitive spirit from Brett Favre.
NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED!!
